WE BELIEVE that addressing global issues begins at the local level. We support and engage non-profit organizations that take ownership for implementing educational and environmental programs and solutions. These partnerships help build stronger communities -- the important first step in transforming individuals, neighborhoods, cities and, ultimately, our planet.

National Grid reaffirmed its dedication to its communities with the establishment of the  National Grid Foundation in December 1998. A $20 million endowment was provided as an outgrowth of its passion for and commitment to the communities it serves. In September 2000, National Grid enhanced its commitment with an additional gift of $10 million and another $5 million gift in 2007. Since its inception, the Foundation has provided more than $38 million in grants to hundreds of non-profit organizations across its grant-making territory.

The National Grid Foundation is more than a funding source. Through its partnerships, the Foundation is afforded the opportunity to work with a host of diverse non-profit organizations. Our experience has shown that by working together we can bring about change that inspires people and transforms communities.
